What birds are doing is different in Japan

Usually what birds are doing is “Singing”, of course.
But in Japan, people say birds are “Crying” which is a little bit no happy and sounds like birds are irritating.

We do not know why we say “Crying” instead of “Singing” but it when we say “Cry”, there are two different Kanji, one is that cry with tears in case of sad situation and the other is for animals vocalize.

Whatever Kanji means, it sounds nine to say “Birds are singing”.
